Two separate questions - NetBIOS and Home/public
Hi, two completely separate questions have me puzzled.
First. How to disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP?
Second. How to change a 'Home' network to a 'Public' network.
Thanks.

I think it is disabled by default?
To enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP:
- Click Start, and then click Network. (Or you can click Start, type ncpa.cpl into the search box, and press ENTER).
- Click on the Network and Sharing Center, and then click Manage Network Connections.
- Right click on the Local Area Connection or the connection you are using.
- Select the Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
- Click the Advanced button under the General tab.
- Click the WINS tab.
- Click the Enable NetBIOS Over TCP/IP button.
- Click Ok.
You could also try to stop the Service!
2. Just go to Network and Sharing Center and change it
1. Click on your current network there and select a new one
Thank you :) I think I must be regressing, I'd forgotten about the advanced tab...
The reason I couldn't change home/public before is simply because I was disconnected... duh!
