    limit bandwidth

    hi!

I need to limit internet bandwidth on my desktop.

Maximum download speed, given by ISP is 470 kb/s.

Now, how can I limit it within Windows(7 Pro) to for example 250 kb/s ?

I would like to avoid commercial software, and I don't want to limit every program manually.

    Best regards

DO you mean you wish to avoid paying for the software, or commercial software in general?

Well, I would like to explore if some freeware can do what I want. Or if it can be done under Windows. Commercial software is last option. I don't plan to use pirated software :)

Tried netlimiter, but I did not find an option to limit bandwidth globally, just per process.

I did find this option in NetPeeker...but I can install in on Win 7 because it throws error that driver being installed are not signed and verified. And it is commercial, trying to find freeware :)

Is there any reason why you want to limit your bandwidth? Does your Internet access plan have a monthly download limit?

The reason is my brother with his online game playing, and simultaneous voice chat...it consumes my bandwidth, so I cant work on Internet :)
