Run your mouse over the devices which are starting with the computer in the bottom right System Tray until you find the HP Connection Manager, double click or right click it to open, find where to turn it off and default to Windows connection manager.

Every model is slightly different and the newest models may have modified it as it has issues known to HP.
Symantec and Network Internet access icons are only ones showing besides audio and Action Center...

There is no modem recognized anywhere... there is no modem tab in device manager, nor a modem under network adapters or other devices. But I have Internet connection. I have tried to go to ubeeinteractive.com to download driver to make sure I have latest, but having trouble with that.
Your PC is connected directly to your modem/router via a LAN ( Local Area Net) cable. You don't need any modems or drivers or other stuff like that on your PC.

The problem is a software problem. We just have to find it.

What happens when you take the cable out of the LAN socket on your PC?

You should get some sort of error report. This may tell us which software is trying to "manage" your connection. This of course will remove your internet connection temporarily, until you plug the cable back in.

When you get a chance I would remove Symantec AV and replace with free MS Security Essentials for better performance in general.

Use Revo Uninstaller as explained in the steps I linked earlier to clean up bloatware.

not to sound like a smarta*s but the OP could do a reinstall of the OS.. that would get rid of the main problem and all of the unnecessary bloatware installed.. the pc would run faster as well.. unless it is an OEM, that is what i would do..

*trying my best not to be a smarta*s and exits quietly*

Yes. It has a "spring" type plastic clip. Depress the plastic lever which is sticking out and this will release the plug. Remove it, and see what happens.

Don't want to muddy the waters with more info here, but I agree with the removal of Symantec. You might even want to do that right away. It's likely a trial for which you'll have to pay to keep anyway, and if it's Symantec Internet Security, it may be contributing to your issues.

i was referring to the bloatwares sir.. if indeed an hp software, which is still not confirmed as of now, is the reason behind the slow connection, why just uninstall it and let 7 connect to the internet automatically?
