    Losing ethernet connection after reboot

After I reboot due to program updates or other reasons, I lose my ethernet connection on my modem. To get it back I have to turn off the modem and then turn it back on. This always works, but takes time. I have tried several suggested solutions, but none worked. Anyone having similar problems with Windows 7 Home Premium?

Try updating your Ethernet adapter driver,

    try another cable,

    replace your modem.

    Been there, done that

I have already done all those things, but none of them did the trick.

Dell doesn't specifically support Windows 7 on that computer. How/where did you find updated driver for the Ethernet adapter?

If it's intergrated on the motherboard then you might also need an updated chipset driver.
