unable to access DNS. Other computers can.

So heres my issue. I apparently have "internet access" but thats about as far as it goes. Both firefox and internet explorer are unable to display web pages. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It's working now obviously. The DNS goes down for about as much as half a day. Steam, windows live, MSN, email, and world of warcraft don't work, yet my laptop and the computer in the office work just fine. I've run a virus scan many times, I've done all sorts of scans, and I've done a system restore. I also tried to contact microsoft but I can't get anywhere because APPARENTLY my product key is expired. What a b@#$!

Anyways, I think I did something to the OS itself but I just haven't got a clue what I did. I would disable my firewall for my router but the router company thought it would be a good idea to just disable that option entirely.

the windows 7 operating system product key. I've got the CD and I'll run it through the repair install.

I'll have to try the network device when the DNS connection konks out again.
