networking
ohhhh kay, this might help you guys alot.
my IP for my computer is .1.2 my gf's laptop that im using is .1.3 my ps3 is .1.50 now the netgear router is what my computer is plugged into and her computer has a wireless card for the router. now we setup passwords for the router enabling the SSID because her laptop card is stupid and couldnt find the SSID when it was hidden even though i typed it in there for it to find. so we set up a i believe it is a WEP key the router, i manually inserted that key into her laptop which might explain why she has net on this laptop and i dont, because i downloaded the windows 7 RC days after we setup this WEP key for the computers. im not sure how that would effect my computer tho because im not trying to connect wirelessly.. but it was just a thought as far as dhcp is concerned, no i dont have to log on with any passwords to get internet access. always been plug n play for me Ken |

since my restart i havent had any problems, but i thought that yesterday and when i came home it wasnt working again, with nothing changed other than restarting.
now since restarting i have updated the driver on my realtek tab under device manager, removed my antivir program. the router itself is a few years old, but i havent really had any problems with it but a few mind boggling situations that me and my friend ultimately realized were fixed by simply updating the router itself through thier website. (one of those simple solutions) |

Do you have all four client boxes (your desktop, your lappie, your GF's lappie, and the PS3) on and connected to your router? If yes, what's the IP for your laptop (see your original post for reference). Are there any other "clients" attached to your router, for example, a printer server? Quote:
