    No Wireless Capabities

Hi to everybody.. Hope you can help me..

I have had my lap for a while now and since I changed to windows 7 everything worked great. Until last week...The wifi in my home was working just fine when I went to sleep, the next day I couldn´t connect anymore... It is like some sort of update happened and I lost the ability to find any wifi connection..
Already tried using different restore points and connecting from other places and got no change, when I try the "solve problems" on windows, it just tells me to plug the ethernet cable in.. When I go on the control panel, Manage Wireless Networks, it just says the wireless option is not currently enabled.

Besides this, when I try to set up a new connection to the internet, the only options I get are through broadband or dial-up, there is no link or option to wirelles connections, as you can see on the first attached image (I am sorry, but my windows is in portuguese.. This is the "How do you wish to connect?" screen and it only shows broadband and dial-up buttons). Anyhow, I am quite shure there was a third option here: Wireless Network.
One final thing I noticed is that the taskbar icon is now different from the connection strengh bar I used to have. Now I have a symbol I dont know what means, but has a red X on it... (second attached image)

Could really use a hand on this one... Thanks in advance..

Hi, check in device manager to see if you still have network drives.
Also is there a switch/key on your keyboard that may have been accidentally hit that has switched off your wifi.
Plug in the cable get into your router and see if any settings or switches have been activated such as disable wan.
cant think of any thing else for you to check.

    Thanks for the reply, razy60.

I've checked the device manager and believe the network adaptor is working fine. The screen for the device manager (again in portuguese, I am sorry) is attached and it shows the NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller under Network Adaptors without any warnings...
And my laptop's switch is on. Double checked.

How could I've disabled the WAN and, most importantly, how could I turn it back on if that was the case?

And what about the weird connection icon on my taskbar? Anybody knows what that means?

    Thanks again...

Hi, the weird symbol (spinning thing over your wireless) is the indicator to inform you that your laptop is trying to connect to the network.
In device manager i did not see anything for wireless only your network card(indicating that you may have a problem with the wireless card also it seems that you have a few issues with other devices(yellow triangles?).

Can you check your BIOS to see if the card is there. If it is go to the manufacturers web site and download the relevant driver and install it(if possible).

It is entirely possible that your card has failed.

Can you post the laptop specs name serial etc.
