    connecting to print server?

I've searched the archives and haven't found a solution, so here I go:

Until a few days ago, I was using a print server that was connected via ethernet to my wireless router. Everything worked fine and I had XP computers printing to it as well. Something happened when a print job was not completed (canceled at the printer- HP PSC 1200 series) and now no one is able to print.

I've uninstalled the server and reinstalled it using the installation cd and the wizard. I can "see" the print server in my browser and it indicates the printer is online and ready. I disabled the DHCP setting and entered a static ip address. However, when I try to connect my win7 computer to the printer on the server (via a local printer connecting through the correct port using the IP address) and can't connect the troubleshooter tells me it cannot resolve the problem. Furthermore, when I go the next step I get a message that says the printer cannot be contacted over the network.

I don't know whether this is relevant or not, but when I see what computers and devices are on my network (using the win7 computer), I can see the other computers but no other devices or the print server.

Have I missed something? Thanks in advance!

Is this a shared printer through your print server?
    If you UNC to: \\printservername\
can you see the printer there? If so, can you connect to it that way?

canceled or failed job issues usually mean print spooler is frozen up. If you restart print spooler service, that generally will resolve those issues.

Yes, it is a shared printer through the server.

    UNC?

I've cleared the print spooler, no luck.

    Thanks
