    Router

I have a Router with ethernet and usb ports on it, and want to use the usb port to plug an external hard drive into it. Is this possible or is the usb port only for connecting to a PC.

    Thanks

It could be for either. Does the router manual give an answer? What is the make and full model number of the router?

It is a Huawei Echolife HG532 and came from my isp with no manual, so i expect it will be the cheapest thing they could give me.

any USB device. Depending on the router firmware, it might not automatically broadcast the network storage, so you'll have to share it manually.

The USB and Ethernet (WAN) port on a Router are there to connect the router to your computer's network. It's not like a USB hub that you can connect other devices to.
