    Deleting network and starting over

I upgraded my PC and HP Laptop to Win7 from XP. I had the machines networked and shared a printer. I recently changed my router to Apple Airport for a couple different reasons and now want to establish a new network for sharing files and printer.

How do I delete the old network settings? Will Win 7 then walk me thru setting up a new network? Is the Homegroup what I want to setup?

Please help with step by step instructions.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi rmdial, welcome to the forums. Sorry it's taken me so long to reply, I have only just seen your post.

Assuming that all machines on your network are running Windows 7 then you will want to use a homegroup, here is a tutorial: Homegroup - Create

As far as removing the network settings go, you don't actually need to. As Windows will recognise that it is a new network and set a new network up for you.

However, if you just want it to be tidy, and remove it completely, then here is what you do.

Firstly, this only applies to Wireless networks, Windows doesn't store details of Ethernet connections anyway.

    1) Open Network and Sharing Centre (click the little computer icon/wireless signal icon in the right hand corner) then click "Open Network and Sharing Centre"
    2) Click Change Adapter Settings and select your Wireless adapter.
    3) At the top, click "manage Wireless networks" this will bring up a list of all Wireless networks that WIndows knows.
    4) Delete the ones you don't want.
