windows 7 sp1 weird network behavior

    Hi there

I have something weird going on with my network, I can surf and download whatever form servers like Rapid, Mega and all those, but I was trying to download Fedora 14 using the a torrent file, and at the beginning it started to download at the max bandwidth I got but a few seconds later it gets like clog up, cuz the download gets down to just 30 Kbps, have to mention that I have a connection of 15 Mbps, but that's not all cuz when I pause the download and close the program, I try to surf the net and everything is slow and even try downloading something form servers, like a video and is downloading at 8-10 Kbps

I check the Task manager and see that my network is at 14 % with a max of 100 Mbps, but I am not downloading nothing even the browser is close and everything else is close, I even check my firewall that has monitoring activity and nothing is using the net

have to say that the same happens every time that I try to use the torrent files, and I have to restart the computer for the "behavior" to go away

even tried with different torrent program version, installing it and reinstalling it

do you guys have an idea?

I stay away form any of the bit torrent sites, you never know what you might catch......ie cold, flu, virus's. First thing I would do is to make sure your system is free from all that. Then reset your modem and router and then check your systems download/upload speeds, from speedtest.net.

    hi, thanks for the reply

actually I've never had problems using bit torrent programs, and that's because I only download stuff like Fedora, Ubuntu, well things like that

besides that I've like 10 years without virus problems cos I use the best antivirus soft there's in the market, besides that I use a router Linux based which I keep in shape updating Iptables

but of course this does not mean that I am immune to viruses, and that it can happen anytime, and that's why I never left "viruses" out of the question

so, anyway, actually I never had this behavior before, and have to mention that Iam using the same program version to download the stuff, the same that I didn't have problems with

But I stop using it for a while, coz I like I said I only download stuff when I need it, time for when I install winodos 7 "SP1"

so, maybe it could be related to the SP1, don't know yet, have to find a solution to this

Where did you get the service pack? Seeing as it has not yet been released...

So, how did you fix it....if you could post your solution, it could be used in reference later down the road to help others with similar problems.
