I signed up yesterday and got an immediate response, ran the speed test and sent them the results. Will see if I get a free router or not.
We’re pleased to say that the details you originally supplied match the type of broadband connection we’re looking to measure. We need to ask you for more information to be certain, and to do this we’ve built a speed-test and accompanying form, which can be found by clicking here.
If you could run the speed test and complete the additional information, we’ll then be able to ensure that we get a representative sample of broadband connections.
If successful, you will receive a SamKnows enabled high-spec NETGEAR router, we’ll also give you access to the SamKnows reporting system so you can see your own data and we’ll send you a monthly report card detailing your ISP’s performance.

Installed my router yesterday. It is a Netgear WNR3500L and all ports are Gigabit (1-Wan, 4-Lan) and has Wireless N. Also has a USB port to attach a HDD to share on the network. My Modem has a Gigabit port and so do my PC's so I now have an all Gigabit network except for my ISP which is 12Mbs. The internet seams a little zipper and it is now running the FCC tests during idle times and I can login to a site to see my results. And I get to keep the router when the testing is done (3 years).

Sigh, nothing new for me since the initial response and my sending in the test results.
