Computer not finding any wireless networks

About a week ago, my power went out, and when it came back on, I still had no internet. After a few calls to my local provider, they had me re-install my network adapters, and I could finally get internet when wired in. The problem is that it wont connect via wireless. I thought it was the router, but since my wife's computer (Vista) can connect via wireless, it has to be something with my computer. Further investigation shows that it wont even recognize any wireless networks. Ive tried a bunch of things like ipconfig/release and /renew, and cleared my DNS cache, but nothing seems to be working. Hopefully someone has seen this before and can help.

Try to uninstall your Wireless drivers, download them from the Toshiba Site, install them and test again.

Make sure to select your exact model.

If not, uninstall the drivers, reboot and let windows 7 find its own! that could work too :)

Silly question, do you have the Wireless on? or is it enabled in the Network Adapters and Connections?

I went ahead and downloaded the latest driver from the Toshiba website as I did have an old version, but this still did not fix the problem.

The actually physical switch is on, and the wireless adapter says that it is enabled (checked by going to Device Manager -> Network adapters, then checking the properties.)

I would be mildly concerned if my wireless router was the only network my computer couldnt read, but I cant even read any of the neighbors wireless networks either.

Since my wireless switch is on, I have the right driver and its enabled, I would think that I should be able to connect wirelessly, unless Im missing something (entirely possible, Im not the most computer savy person).

If its possible something just "crapped out", I might just bring it back in and have someone look at it.

Apparently the computer did not find the right driver. In fact, in my network and sharing center, I used to have a link that said "Manage Wireless Networks". No networks were visible, but still... Now, I dont even have that.
