Direct programs between two networks?

Hey guys,

So I have a desktop, with 2 wired ethernet ports and 1 wireless card, running Windows 7, and have two possible internet connections. What I would like to do is force specific programs to use an individual NIC. Only 1 wired port is used, but that connection is limited to 10GB a week (life of a college student in the dorms, womp). There is wireless available on campus, which is unlimited, but slower.

I have a pretty good understanding of networking (I have Cisco Certified Networking Associate certs for soho/medium/enterprise networking) buuuuuuuuuuuuuut do not know everything, and find myself here :)

Objective;

Have most programs (browsers / low traffic) use the wired connection
Have select few high traffic programs (mainly itunes for downloads) use the wireless connection.

What I've tried;

Adding static routes to the routing table- in theory would probably work, but requires finding what port / ip address each program may use as destination. Tested briefly, but programs started spitting out network errors.

Setting defined metrics for NICs- again, in theory would work, but Windows 7 doesn't seem to care as long as both are connected.

Disabling adapters- this works, but due to the low signal of the wireless, is not feasible. network will pop in and out of range due to physics and acts of God.

Any help would be appreciated, and I will do my best to provide as much information as necessary.
