DPI doesn't automatically mean logging though.
Actually, DPI is a means to ensure QoS - VoIP packages should be highest priority, for example, while Torrent traffic is least important.
It's a shame though that many ISPs downshape Torrent traffic so bad it's hardly usable.

We have all sorts of rates here and none of them can compete with the USA or EUROPE.
I am on Naked Broadband 20000 Cable. With 70Gig offpeak and 50 Gig peak (peak time is 12 Midday to 12 Midnight).
Uploads are included in the totals.
When you use up your peak allowance you are throttled back to 64kbps which is absolutely useless as you can't even connect to get you emails.
When you use up your offpeak it is then taken from your peak allowance
Price is $59.95 per month

Holy c...ow!
My condolences, mate. That's a pretty rough plan you have there.
With my ISP you'd pay 32 US$ for 20 Mbit completely flat.

Every 10-40 minutes, the application I'm currently working in becomes unresponsive, and after a minute or two, the window turns white, notifying me that it's not responding. This unresponsiveness quickly spreads to other open processes, rendering them frozen as well. I can still use the mouse, and...
