    Mapped network drive access

I'm using XP. I have mapped a network drive to a Windows 7 computer as administrator. I am trying to navigate to Z:\Users\Mary\Pictures\Mary's Pictures. But when I navigate to Z:\Users\Mary\Pictures I don't see "Mary's Pictures". I can see "Mary's Pictures" if I'm at her computer.

What do I have to do to see all folders and files on Z?

    Welcome EddyQ.

do you have don't show hidden and system files unchecked in folder options? That could be the reason
or the user mary does not have sharing on her pictures folder.

I have unchecked "Hide protected operating system files", checked "Show hidden files and folders", and checked "Display the contents of system folders". On Mary's computer, for drive C, I have checked "Share this folder on the network" and "Allow network users to change my files". This should allow me to see everything on drive C.

I believe you would need to add either a local account (not sure if that's possible in a home enviroment), or give everyone full control of the drive. Try those (one at a time) and see if one of them fixes your problem. If not, or if you need help doing this, post back and we'll see what more we can do. :)

I have given everyone full control and all check marks are set. I tried logging on with Mary's account and tried administrator also. When I try Mary's account it won't even let me into her user's folder. With administrator I can get into her user's folder but can't see any of the files. Her computer is Windows 7 Pro and mine is XP Pro.

Opps, my error. The pictures I'm trying to look at are in Libraries\Pictures. I thought Libraries was actually c:\Users\Mary but found that it is actually E:\Users\Mary. I'm not sure how it got on E but that explains the problem.

Sorry for the mix up. (If anyone knows how to set the location of Libraries then that would be helpful).

When logged in as Mary, right click on the "documents" tab, select properties, and from there you can edit her libraries.
