Wireless NIC driver reporting no problems

    Hi,

This is a strange one and I'm not sure where to go with it.
I installed a wireless NIC in my main desktop machine (x64 Ultimate)

The little tray icon reports that it has connected correctly (and I can see the local network, so it appears it has) , when I hover over the little tray icon, it reports I'm connected to "My Wireless Network" and taht full Internet access is available.

All good so far, except... I cannot browse teh internet.
I can browse the local network but I cannot browse the internet.

The network diagnostics, say it can't find a problem.

When I go to adapter settings, click "Configuration" this list of "options" down one side contains 3 or 4 items.

An Identical card in another x64 machine of mine has 8 or 9 options in this list.

The implication is that the driver sin't being loaded correctly.

I have updated the driver but nothing seems to have a made any difference.

    has anybody got any ideas?

Sorry for the long firat post.

    TIA

    Go to start>type in Device Manager>Click Network Adapters>Right Click your Card> Properties>Driver.

    Then press Windows Key+R>Hit Enter>Type CMD> Hit enter>Then type ipconfig/all

Then use the snip tool (type snip into the search box and hit enter) and post a screen shot.

Also, log into your router and make sure the settings are correct. You will find the address of the router as Default Gateway in CMD and type it into your browser bar and then enter your password.
