Give the one here a try,

different motherboard but same Atheros ethernet, that and it is a damn sight newer than what Asus is offering for your board. Have had zero connectivity problems with that driver on my setup.
Might want to change that to Ask, that way it can't sneak in any driver updates on you.

I tried thoes with windows update set to ask and still the same things happens, I cant understand this at all.
ok i removed the driver win 7 installed. Reinstalled the updated driver from asus web site in win vista compatability mode. reboot pc and change power settings so pc cannot go to sleep or hibernate and all is working good now. hope this helps someone.
Just keep the Asus driver (it works with the beta version also). If the router can't find your network adapter just reset it. Then right-click on "My Computer" and select "Manage". Look for you Atheros network adapter and double-click to make appear the properties. In advanced tab select "APS Mode" and modify the value to "Enable". Next time you will boot you'll be happy to see the Leds of your router blinking I also set the "Flow Control" to enable to see any difference but I didn't experienced any...
