Dial Up Modem for 64 Bit Windows 7

I have a Smartlink 56K PCI modem. I'm assuming there are no 64 bit drivers. Does anyone know of any PCI or USB modems that will work with Windows 7 64 bit?

    Thanks.

U.S.Robotics USB 56K Modem Model 5633B works fine in Vista64 for me.

I also have a USR5686E External that I like. I quit using it because of the power supply. Too many wires under the desk.

I have not attached either of them to Windows 7.

I guess that I should mention - I do not like internal modems, especially WinModems. I prefer the USR5686E External because it has it's own controller and is not dependent on the CPU.

US Robotics 5633B Windows 7 not working

Hi, I have a 5633B modem I am desperately trying to get working in Windows 7, but cannot. It seems that there is some kind of gray area about this modem, that it works in Vista, but not necessarily Windows 7. Is anyone using Windows 7 with this modem, or having difficulties? Your reply or feedback would greatly be appreciated.

I seemed to be able to load the drivers, but when actually trying to use the modem, it is very wonky. I got it to work maybe one in 10 tries. This is after rebooting and several tries.

I am using this as a FAX modem. Trying to use Windows FAX and Scan that comes with Windows 7. The BVRP Phone Tools also just don't work.

I do not like the Microsoft program, as it behaves poorly, redialing without control. There are also no options for file destinations. Come on MS!

    Modems

Honestly, I am running Windows 7 Ultimate. Finding a dial-up modem for any 64bit os is like finding a needle in a haystack. I havent found a driver for mine yet. Your best bet is to go External for a modem if you are running a 64bit os.

usb dial up modems for windows 7

I too have been unable to find usb dial up modem with win 7 (x64) driver.
I would like to use Zoom 3095 but am rather confused. They have a win 7 driver
but you have to download it, but I have always understood that unless you have the driver in order to get on the Internet, how can I download the driver .
It seems to be a case of the chicken and the egg.
Could someone with more experience than me give some advice please.

    Zoom 3095 & Windows 7

Longretired: You should have internet access independent of modem drivers.
I also have the Zoom, 3095. Although the box says it is compatible with windows 7, I found no drivers on the internet for windows 7.

I am able to dial the fax number, however, I am stuck as I receive an error with no details as to the cause???

    Plug and Play 56K Dial-up Modem for Windows7 x64

I have noticed that people posting on this thread seem to have not found a plug and play dial-up modem. I have completed a bit of technological research and have found a modem for Windows7 x64. It should support plug and play and if that doesn't work install the windows vista x64 drivers. The modem's product information is as follows:

    Product Name: 56k/ v.92 Hardware-Based Data/ Fax Modem
    Manufacturer: Rosewill
    Model number: RNX-56USB
More in depth specifications at the manufaturer website: http://www.rosewill.com/products/1164/productDetail.htm

    Online retailers:
    Newegg- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16825164005

This modem worked for me so I hope that this will help everyone out.
