    htc desire hd wifi

hi iam hoping some body can help
ive been using my phone on a belkin g router for the last few months using wep security with no problms

today installed a new belkin n router got every thing runing fine using wpa2 security apart from my phone

it asks for the wireless password which ive entered and it keepsscanning then conecting then it comes up with authenticating and then disconnects

and keeps doing that over and over again

iam i right in thinking the password is what we set or is it a code on the router or in the set up

    cheers

I had a similar issue when my wife first got her iphone. I found that wpa2 security didin't work with an iphone, but wep did.

Now that I have an HTC Desire HD as well, I have it connected to our wireless connection at home using WEP security & haven't had any problems. I haven't tried my Desire with wpa2 so I can't be sure, but try using WEP again & see how you go.

There are a lot of devices out there that support WPA2/AES (or TKIP) but do a poor job of implementing it. If you have special characters (!, $, %, etc) in your WPA2 password, try removing them. I had to do that for my Kindle in order to get it to connect. Luckily my Captivate supports WPA2 correctly.
