Disabling Ping Response or even stealth it

    New router, no problems! A lot more settings I don't understand but maybe I'll get specific in a seperate thread!!

    "suppose you have multiple machines and you want to know if there is machine on the network with given IP. That's when you use ping." hmm poor policy, as system 1.2.3.4 may be powered off and thus not respond to ping and thus allow a dupicate manual assignment. A better process is to make all client systems use DHCP and thus duplicates will be avoided.
    Server systems (aka DC, DNS, AD, Exchange) should be fixed/static addresses AND not be within the DHCP range.
