Can you disable (as previously) the IPv6 components on both, and then ping -4 again whilst gathering a network trace on "Prague" via wireshark? DNS appears to be working, but it'd be interesting to see what's happening on the wire. Is it safe to assume firewalls are currently disabled while testing right now on both ends?

Indeed, no responses to ICMP requests, or even SYN requests to create a session. I do see that IP address sending broadcast browser messages and DROPBOX discovery protocol broadcasts, which is odd. Are you certain the firewall is disabled on 192.168.1.64?
Firewall is disabled on 'London' (Laptop) for private networks (which it is on). Dropbox client was running in the background so that makes sense to see those broadcasts I guess. Anything else that I can run/test?

i had exactly the same problem (but i needed some frustrating hours to locate it.. first i only tried to find out why remote desktop doesnt work. None of the solutions worked of course because the problem was the IPv4 ping..)
The solution for me was quite specific: I had the program "Checkpoint Endpoint Security" installed. After i uninstalled it, pinging on IPv4 worked again. YAY!!
Just switching Endpoint Security of didn't work, because apparently Endpoint Security automatically installs a firewall which keeps running even if the program itself is switched off.
I then reinstalled the program with INSTALL_FIREWALL=NO from the command line. Now pinging and remotedesktop work, even if Endpoint Security is installed and running.
Don't know if this helps anyone, but if you dont have the program installed, maybe its another little program that blocks the pings, and not a problem in your network configuration.

That only went and worked. I had Checkpoint Endpoint VPN client installed, and when I removed that it worked!
RemoteDesktop now works, as does ping!

I had the same problem. Symantec Norton 360 was the problem. All I had to do was to tun Norton Removal Tool and all was good then. Download it from Symantec servers here:
