    Tcp limit patch

Guys, there's a little patch spreading on the web, that can patch memory or file. I just can patch memory, it doesn't allow me to patch the file. That sucks a bit because when i reboot the laptop, the limiter comes in action again. anyone knows a way to patch tcp forever?

What patch? The half open concurrent tcp limit patch? Don't bother, just do the Auto tuning and chimney offload tweak if you want and see if it does anything for you.

Chimney Offload State - Enable or Disable - Vista Forums
Internet Explorer - Maximum Download Sessions - Vista Forums

actually the patch is actually out there....

but airbot's response is better since its permanent....

in essence the memory patch can actually lead to errors since its patched on the fly

while using these are well documented and should not lead you into errors...

I used it before I even found these forums and started getting connection problems so blah, I wouldn't bother with it.

Theres a discussion about that patch here: TPCIP.SYS and NETIO.SYS for Vista x64 Ultimate - Vista Forums

The tcp-ip patch was created by poeple with little understanding of its purpose... It only limits raw socket connections to 15, if the limit is reached then the extra connections are queued...You can configure the networking stack using "netsh", UTorrent and Limewire are the only two applications that use Raw sockets and they have their own limit of 8 so the patch is useless for the reason the hackers claim it fixes.
