    Question on remote desktop


    Hi all
    I was just wondering i have some files on my Dads PC who lives in Leicestershire and his computer is running windows xp home edition.
    My computer is running windows 7 ultimate.
    Could i remote to his computer?

    Here's some info for you
    • You cannot use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to computers running Windows Vista Starter, Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Home Basic N, or Windows Vista Home Premium. You can, however, connect from those editions of Windows Vista to computers running other versions of Windows.
    • You cannot use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to computers running Windows XP Home Edition.
    Technically you can but you need to check that the above version are compatible...e.g. Windows 7 Ultimate > Windows XP Pro

    You'll find that TeamViewer is 1 of the best out there and it's free

    Teamviewer gave me a lot of connection drops and was lacking in responsiveness. I switched to LogMeIn and haven't had any issues.

    Thanks for the idea but i have already sorted the problem out and teamviewer seems fine to me
