Internet Identity issue

Good evening, a newbie so be kind please...

I have a slightly frustrating issue with Windows 7 (Ultimate) 64bit - every time the laptop goes into standby, hibernate, sleep etc the internet connection get's lost and it has to Identify itself again, which can take a couple of minutes or so each and sometimes it totally fails and I need to reboot and do all sorts of things like repair connection etc...

It was great up until this week - ironically that side of W7 I have found very impressive, much better than XP Pro but not currently :-( I don't feel I've changed anything and it just started happening one evening.

There is a Netbook on the same router and that has been and still works okay so it's seem to be local to my laptop.

The issue is both wired and wireless - any ideas?

Thanks - Blue

Ps. Tried rebooting the router but with no success

I had the same problem that was fixed by uninstalling and letting windows reinstall the driver using device manager.

Hi, thanks for the quick response - just to make sure I understand this: in Device Manager, uninstall both the Network Adaptors; the Intel Wireless adaptor and the Marvell Yukon Ethernet adaptor?

Thanks - Blue

Yes, uninstall both and click "scan for hardware changes" and let windows do your legwork. If you are still having an issue post back

Hi, just spent a frustrating half hour messing around with little success - I've de and reinstalled both the wireless and the ethernet drivers. The issue seems to be around the Network Identification - it says the internet is connected but it cannot identify a Network!

Verifying My Identity
Before, they used to say 'to verify the account owner'. Now, they are saying 'to verify your identity'. Creating a question and answer is not enough. Phone number and more wanted. Anyway, I was chilling out; this came to my mind. When I tell people that I do not have an account on any social...
