    Welcome to TVF.

Have you installed a driver for your network adapter?

I can't tell you where to get one because you haven't given us your system specs, but you need to look in Device Manager. If there's a yellow icon next to your network adapter, it needs a driver.

Best place for that is your computer manufacturer's support page.

Yes it does have a yellow icon next to ethernet controller.

My Pc is custom so it does not have a manufacturer's website, but i dont know what driver to install

Then you need to find out who manufactured your network adapter and download a driver from there.

Did it come with a driver disc? Did you build the system or was it built for you? If it was, whoever built it should have access to all the hardware drivers.

Does anyone know why a laptop won't connect to a wireless network that is public? We are staying in a rv park and they have wi-fi using a router and an antenna. My husband can connect with his Toshiba laptop, but my HP Pavilion will not connect. I have ran diagnostics on it and it says, problem with router or access point. They have checked their router, unplugged and re-booted it, to no avail. Still can't connect. Never had this happen before.

Start>Computer>Right-click Computer>Properties>Device Manager or pressing the Win Key+Pause will also bring it up.
