    Share a folder via WiFi on Windows 7


    Hi everyone:


    I was curious how to do this on Windows Vista/Windows 7. Here's what I'm trying to accomplish. I want to stream some of my video files from a PC to my iPad. I can do this using a third party app that runs on my iPad that can connect to a computer via a WiFi network. I managed to do this quite easily on Windows XP and I can stream AVI files from the "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents" folder. All I did is this -- I right-clicked on the Documents folder there and selected Properties, then Sharing tab and set "Share this folder on the network", named it and OK'ed it. After that I can easily see that folder from the app running on my iPad and stream files out of it.

    Windows Vista and Windows 7 aren't as easy to set up and they don't have the same controls as Windows XP. So can someone help me set it up there?

    Have a read at this: Set up a computer to computer ad hoc network,
    or you could use connectify, it works well for this type of wireless network sharing.

Whenever I share other folders, I can't access them on my tablet, only except for the Users folder which is shared by default, the others give me "you don't have permission blah blah" I'm frustrated with windows :\ plz help
I'm trying to share a large folder of music files that is about 100gb on my home network. I set the sharing for "Everyone" read/ write, like all the other files that I share on my LAN. I have some very large movie folders that the computer has no problem sharing with other computers on the network...
i've enabled homeshare and now can't seem to turn it off. All users on the workgroup can see all folders in homeshare. Which isn't what i want i just want to share the documents folder and that's it. ive turned off omeshare and they are all sill showing up. I've also right clicked on the documents...
