Hi Tom,

Yes, I trully understand your issue, you're trying to wireless connect to your router. What I meant by Network - the wireless security that you will be applying to your computer shd also be applied to the rest of your computers in your 'Home Network' bec they will all be affected by the changed.
But, let's get your computer fixed first and please report back.

I will try the things you are suggesting and get back. Thanks again for all your help.

Tom

Try removing all encryption on the SSID, can you see it and connect that way?

Hey guys,

Since I am having the same problem on two different routers I suspect encryption is not the issue. That being said, I have the computer here at home and will try removing the encryption on my router. If the connect works, where do I go from there?

HP Tech Support are suggesting there might be a problem with the original Windows installation since I set up three of the same computer and only one is causing this problem. What are your thoughts on this?

Hey guys..... can you imagine? I have cruised every tech support site I know I can trust and have found my problem to be common place and the solution extremely evasive. Since nothing I found made any more sense than what I had tried and your suggestions were not solving the problem. I tried the only thing that hadn't been tried, that being the suggestion from HP.
Well guess what? After destroying all my updates, ininstalls, installations, configurations etc. I restored the computer to Factory Fresh and as I went through the initial set up, the wireless configuration took place and the wireless computers in the area were recognized. No wonder the solution is so elusive to everyone. Who would ever guess that the initial set up of a brand new system would be defective?

Thanks for all your efforts,

Tom
