My laptop cannot detect Wireless networks nor interface!

Hi I was using my laptop for ordinary use surfing YouTube. When all of a sudden i shut it down and turned it back on and the wifi switched was on but the light was orange which indicates off. I could only connect wired connection. I went into Manage Wireless Networks and says Wireless is not currently enabled. Someone please help. And this is all comes up in device manager its in the picture and notice the bar in bottom right it only gives me ethernet connection option.

    I have a Compaq Presario F572US

    Welcome to SF,

Your O/S profile says Vista, what is the O/S of the computer in question?
Please try a System Restore, restore it to a point where you were able to connect.

    Here's a Vista guide.
    Here's Windows 7 guide.

If the System Restore didn't help at all, please download the Wi-Fi driver from your computer's manufacturer's site.

    An update will be appreciated.

Is the device now showing in Device Manager?

Do you have any Security Software installed - Norton, McAfee or similar?

No still the same nothing changed

And No i have no security software installed. And I even re installed Windows 7 because i barely had anything on it and still the same.

Do you think it might be a hardware problem??

You might need to go to go back to the Manufacturer's site of your laptop and download the latest chipset drivers.

If the Wi-Fi Adapter is not showing up in your Device Manager, it can be a hdwe issue, perhaps bad port on the Motherboard.

Have you also toggled on the FN keys on your keyboard, FN+F2 or FN+F9 to activate the wireless key?
Also, Check for any physical switch on your laptop.

If none of the above suggestions worked, you may always consider buying a Wi-Fi Adapter.

No luck. I download the chipset drivers for my laprop model and installed but still nothing. And tried the keys and still nothing. And the switch is on the on side but still shows that is off. The light is off even though the switch is switched on.

I guess it is a hardware issue.

Sorry about your issue, then this is what you might consider doing.

Let us know if you need assistance on finding a Wi-Fi Adapter. Make sure get something with High-Gain Antenna for extended signal range, it does help a lot.
