    Browse "secondary" Domain

    Hi,

I've actually posted this on here before, but didn't get an answer that time, so having another go.

    The issue:

We have 2 domains within our organisation. Windows XP machines can browse both domains via My Network Places without issue.

Windows 7 will not do this. The Network Map or Network (via start menu) only returns PCs (and printers, etc) on the domain I am logged onto.

Why can I now not browse another domain other than the one I'm logged onto? Indeed, I can't even ping a PC on the other domain.

Both domains are on the same subnet. I have the authority, in theory, to do what I am attempting.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

So you can't ping a machine on the 2ndary domain? Are both Domains using the same default gateway (due to them being on the same subnet)?

What error do you get when you attempt to ping the DC on that 2ndary domain?

Can you tracert the DC on the 2ndary domain? At what point does it fail?

Are the win7 firewalls on or off?

I assume the XP and w7 machines are in seperate OUs... but do they have simliar GPO assigned and enabled?
