Once more: "No network access - unidentified network"

    Hi all,

first of all please excuse my bad English. I'm writing from Germany. My question: Is it possible to delete all network settings in order to restore them automatically through Windows or manually? If yes, how to do this? Which registry keys and/or other settings must be deleted? Or do I have to reinstall Win7 RC completely?

The reason of my question: Since few days I'm confronted with the "No network access - Unidentified Network" problem on one of my three Win7RC-notebooks. It's the only network I can see and it's a wired connection. I didn't make any changes to Windows and on the router. The network diagnosis tells me that the IP-configuration is incorrect, but it doesn't say how and where to correct the settings. All necessary services are running, but it's impossible to create a new network connection. The router firmware is up to date and the router works fine for the two other Win7-laptops. They too have a LAN-connection to the network and the Internet.

I've tried the solutions suggested here in the forum, but unfortunately no one works. Reinstalling and updating the LAN cable driver also doesn't provide a solution. I have also imported the network and firewall settings from the two other notebooks, but it didn't solve the problem.

Many thanks for any help und kind regards

    Taurus

Hi taurus and Welcome to the forums.
    Lets fix this issue.
1: Click on Start and in the Start Search box, type ncpa.cpl and press Enter.
2: Right click on Local Area Connection and Click Properties.
3: Double Click Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4).
4: Make sure you have Obtain IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically options checked(have a dot).

Let me know the results in order to proceed.

Alright, now at the bottom right side of the screen, right click on the network icon and click Troubleshoot problems. Let me know what results it brings.

Just a quick thought - this sounds a lot like what happens when the Bonjour service is installed and runs amuck.

To see if is installed/running take a look in "program files (x86)" for folder "Bonjour". If it's there, the following page might be of help....

If that does work, that's a symptom diagnostic pointing to the Bonjour service.

    The results are:

    LAN-connection has no valid IP-Configuration
The windows firewall is incorrectly configured
    The HomeGroup Permissions are incorrect

    (s. attachment; partly in German because of German Windows)
