So .... no one has any other ideas?
Obviously not, I'm sure they would have posted by now if they had.
Do you get an error number with that message? "Error code 0x80630801"?
This technet forum has a possible fix:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...c-e9a2c1469bd7
Basically though, on your laptops, delete the hidden file: idstore.sst
from: \windows\serviceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Roaming\PeerNetworking
Then probably reboot the laptop. Deleting the file may require admin privs.
No error code.
The "delete bridge" solution from the URL didn't work either since there was no bridge to delete.
I deleted the idstore.sst files as well. I even deleted everything in that folder and it still didn't work. There were new idstore.sst files created, but the laptops still couldn't connect.
All it says is that the computer can't connect due to an error and that I can't try to have the troubleshooter look for a fix.
I'm so very frustrated. The laptops know there's a Homegroup that was created by the desktop. If they know there's a Homegroup and who created it, why can't the desktop verify the password and allow the laptops to join?
