Network list or options will not open

Ive never had problems with my laptop or networking till today.

I cant open the network list or options, ive tryed going through the control panel but when i press "connect to a network" it wont load.and when i try to click the icon on the bar it wont pop up either.

The only way i can connect to the internet right now is through plugging it straight to the modem since i have it set to auto connect, but i cant connect to the WiFi since the list wont show.ive ran a virus scan but it didnt bring up anything.

Is there any way to fix this problem?or do i have to go get someone to fix it like bestbuy?

Have you tried to run diagnostics on the wifi hardware? Perhaps it is failing?

Or perhaps, uninstall/reinstall the drivers for it, if that is possible?

Okay, usually when you hover over the networks listed and available from the taskbar icon, you get a nice little window with a few helpful tidbits of info for each listed network when you mouse action hover over the names. My rig uses a Centrino Advanced-N 6230 wireless mini half-card. It reports the correct name except within the wireless network list. Instead of 6230 it reports 6320. I searched the registry to see if I could find the error, but nothing found. It's only a nuisance, and a minor one at that. ...
