Port issues and such!

    Port issues and such!


    OK,
    I am attempting to use a program called:
    zbattle
    with
    zsnes
    which is used to play over the net

    It requires ports:
    7845 UDP
    4000 TCP
    4398 TCP

    SO I gone and port forward all the ports.
    But it seems like it didn't do anything....

    mainly with the 7845 UDP port i would assume since thats the main one.

    I disabled my firewall completely as well..

    It hangs at the screen "Connecting to service"
    Or "waiting for other to connect"


    No idea where to go from here.

    Any help would be great!

    PS:
    Using http://canyouseeme.org/ to test port gives: Connection refused

    PSPS: I port forward many things before so I got the hang how to do normal port forwards!

    I think your port forward does work.

    Why? Because getting a "connection refused" message is different from a simple timeout due to not receiving any response at all. It means your computer is answering the port check by actively refusing it. Are you running your game while you're doing the port check?

    It might be an issue with the UDP forward, since UDP is a one-way protocol that doesn't rely on acknowledgement packets like TCP does...so I'm not sure how you could even test an UDP port forwarding. Which firewall did you disable, the one in Windows or the one in your router? Or both?

    Just windows for now.

    Don't know much about router firewalls, never really needed to to anything with them

    I said "SO I gone and port forward all the ports.

    So no I didn't say i didn't port forward.

    I have no idea why..



    Edit: there's an option to run TCP instead of UDP for port 7845
    tho this makes some lag issues, it works..

    I'd still like to solve the issue for 7845 UDP tho..

    SO now we know its that port not working correctly..

I've been experiencing issues with my internet connection on just one of my computers over the last 4 days. From time to time, my browsers stop loading web pages, and then start working again on their own. Restarting the computer or the modem/router doesn't solve anything as I do this everyday....
