Windows 7: "Home Network" setting cannot be saved

The WiFi clients on my home network include G only and G/n devices. The 802.11 mode is set for b/g/n with DIR655 and b/g for WRT54G. I think the G only device will work whether there is G only AP or not.

As to your suggestion that the DIR655 be reset, I did just that a couple of weeks before I started this thread. Thus, I have had my share of gripes about DIR655. So, I am thinking of replacing it with Cisco E3200.

My problem with DIR655 were slow down of the Internet uplink speed(not WiFi used) and intermittent AP which interrupts WiFi connection. Therefor, I am hegitant to use it even as an AP. If I need to increase coverage, I may be better off using a WiFi range extender from the same vendor as that of a new WiFi router.

Sharing the "C" drive on a Home network
I have always been under the impression that it is not a good idea to share the entire "C" drive of a PC on a home network. I have always understood it to be a security risk but would be pleased to hear what the security experts think. Any contribution gratefully received!
