wifi signal drop after installing windows updates?

i install windows professional 7 sp1 from disc clean install. i automatically install my wifi drivers, the signal is crazy good rate is 72MBS and im connecting at 58MBS, but when i do all the updates the signal drops to 43.5 and never gets better. but if i have nothing installed the signal is amazing. anyone know what could be causing this. let me know i can still download at 1.0 MBs but i want more :)

its a usb wireless adapter from edimax just so you know

One thing you can try is start from a fresh install and disable automatic updates, then install your wifi drivers.

Next manually check for updates and see if windows offers a driver for your wireless adapter. If it is does then I would assume that to be cause and I would open Devices & Printers, right click the computer icon, select Device installation setting, select No let me choose what to do and select either the 2nd or 3rd option. I recommend the 3rd, Never install driver... Continue to install the rest of the updates.

If it doesn't offer a driver or the issue still exist after updating then starting fresh again install 3 or 4 updates at a time and check your signal after each update until you find the one that causes the issue. This will narrow it down to 3 or 4 updates then you can uninstall the last 3 or 4 and if your issue goes away then reinstall them one at time till you have the one or more that cause the issue. If the issue doesn't goes away after uninstalling them then you will need to start fresh again.

Not really my area but as no one else has replied thats the best advice I could give. Let us know how it goes.
