Do Wireless extenders really work?

If I buy a wireless extender does it really work that well? You can also plug in a LAN cable for it. Quicker?

Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit

plug a lan cable into a wireless extender? uh nope, never heard of it being done, but I guess I never looked them up. But yes, they really do work.

But what works just as good if not better is buying an "N" capable router and adapter (and either canceling the ability for "g" capable or lower to connect, or not connecting any.

wireless extenders are made to carry the WIRELESS signal further in a building/outside, they do not offer any other benefit

The one I like is the Hawking HWREN1 Hi-Gain Wireless-300N Range Extender. Easy to set up and very reliable.

Extra USB Port Extenders
Hello, Amazing how fast one uses up the USB Ports supplied in the desktop PC. Am trying to only use the ones in the back, as it gets messy if I also use the two on the front. Have an external powered 4-Port hub that I purchased, and am using that also. Seems like I need another one or two...
