no clues as to how your network is setup and how many computers or NAS devices ?

the first thing I would do is reboot the HUB

Richard, you have this thread running too: Mistakenly, I have turned up the User Accounts Control up to high??

I'm just wondering if the two problems are related?

I think these two problems are almost certainly related and your idea seavixen of trying a system restore and if that doesn't work creating a new user profile with admin rights then deleting the old is the best way to solve it ?

If this doesn't work then you may need to Enable the Windows 7 Built-in Administrator Account ?

Problem Solved The User Account Controls Were On To High, I Think That Will Be The Most Thundermental Thing In Windows 7 Home And Starter Versions, Through Third Party Active Directory Software.
