    Homegroup Not Working Anymore

Hello. Recently, The homegroup feature on the my laptop and desktop stopped working and I could not get it operational again. When I first bought my laptop, I connected it to my homegroup and it worked perfectly. after that, I really did not touch it but I always noticed that the homegroup did detect the other computer. About a week later after turning on homegroup, I tried to access the files on my desktop but when I tried to click on pictures, I could not access the files. The next day (today), I left the homegroup on both computers and tried to connect it again. At the end of configuration, it said the connection failed there was an error. Then, I tried again and now, each computer cannot even detect that there is a homegroup. We use an AT&T router and the wireless for the house is working without problems.

So, How can I fix the homegroup feature on windows 7? Both network discovery and public folder sharing are both on and it cant be the firewall because it worked before and I never changed any settings on the firewall. Please Help!

Whats funny is around the same time, the wireless printer in our house has stopped working so wireless printing is not possible anymore. I tried to fix it but still nothing yet.

Thank you in advance for the answers.

    Hello,

Can the laptop ping the desktop? Can the desktop ping the laptop? You may do this from a command prompt by typing: ping IPAddress then enter, for ex. ping 192.168.1.10(IP output can obtain by typing ipconfig /all)

Are you using the Windows built-in firewall or a Software firewall/security?
Both network discovery and public folder sharing are both on and it cant be the firewall because it worked before and I never changed any settings on the firewall.

I tried the above and it won't ping the other laptop - I get:

    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0 Lost = 4 (100% loss)

Any idea what this means. Both laptops are connecting to the wireless internet fine...but the same problem as above. Wireless printer was working, homegroup was working and both stopped at the same time and we can get them to work with each other again. I can set up a homegroup but the other laptop says no homegroup and the printer won't be found either...

    Help please :)
