I support zigzag's recommendation re Team Viewer.
    IMHO it is without peer.
Used here also daily for long stretches at a time.
Have found it to be fast & reliable.

    Suggest you check it out.
See if it will do what Remote Desktop is giving you grief with.

    in elevated command prompt
netsh advfirewall firewall set rule group="remote desktop" new enable=Yes

Do this on PC1 to which you can't connect and try again. Also try to use correct username instead of PC1\username

@ Kaktussoft: First line works. The second two commands said: "No Rules match the specified criteria". But I tried the connection again, still doesn't work. Even turned off Windows Firewall. Nothing

Thanks Kaktussoft, your posts were helpful. Found the problem though. I changed my username a while back on PC1, but it was only the display name that changed, not the actual username. So my username was wrong. Thanks a lot for everyone's' help, it really helped me picking up my problem.(idiot operator )

When configuring "remote desktop" you had to select users. How come you didn't notice the username problem? anyway the problem has been solved.
