Windows 7 RTM 64bit poor web performance
I have a freshly installed Windows 7 64bit RTM (downloaded from technet), no other software installed. I connect to a wifi-n network (Fritz!Box 7270) via a Intel 4965AGN networkcard. Now the network speed is great (3MB/s and up), even better than when I use this connection via my Windows Vista 64bit on the same hardware.
But when I start Internet Explorer (32bit or 64bit) all webpages load extremely slow or not at all. Again on the Windows Vista installation (jammed with all sorts of software) all webpages load almost instantainiously but on Windows 7 some are slow taking atleast 30~60seconds to load, others do not load at all.
The odd thing is that when I connect to my Wifi-g network which is wired via the Fritz!Box 7270 to the internet all webpages load quickly, almost instantainiously.
I tried to use a number of older Intel 4965agn drivers, and the latest available for Vista 64bit but with no succes... all had the same result, great network performance but very poor webpage performance.
Also I ruled out the possibility that it could be IE.... I downloaded Firefox which had the same problem.
As an experiment I stopped all services that I beleive could interfere with loading webpages (e.g. Windows Firewall) without succes.
I must be missing something here and could use some help with this.
