the device or resource (DNS) is not responding

My laptop is tethered to my droid x and I have a connection but I still get the yellow caution sign with the exclamation point and it says no internet access. I troubleshoot and get this your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS) is not responding but I do have a connection to the internet. I'm wondering how to get rid of the icon since it's the wrong message.
