Question about RDC Remote Desktop Connection
I am setting up a Win 7 box to offer multiple software services to my guests. I will be installing the software and either I or the guests, or both will be using the apps. I have setup my machine to run a Virtualbox virtual machine running Ubuntu 11. Ubuntu runs the xrdp server. I have opened an rdp port in the Virtualbox interface to forward packets between the host and guest machines. I use the Win 7 RDC app to connect to the virtual machine. There is too much lag in the host-guest exchanges. How do I minimize that lag? And to top it off, I want to make these software services available to my guests while keeping control by enabling Parental Control to avoid all-nighter parties at excessive hours. I have set up a "standard user" user called "public" for that purpose. How do I enable access to the Virtualbox app (and the guest machine) so the guests can run it but not change virtual machine settings and to avoid having to copy the virtual machine (some 10 Gb and growing) to another location? I would like to have RDC log into the virtual machine at Win 7 logon using the "public" user so it offers a seamless desktop at each "public" user logon. And I would like to make the virtual machine accessible over the local network over rdp. I guess that means changing firewall rules.
