I can't thank you enough for at least trying. Yahoo answers gets a bunch of sarcastic answers.

Is norton any good? I might be able to get it back. Not anytime soon. There is a photo memory card adapter, can that hold files?
Not unless it has a memory card in it, but I wouldn't recommend storing the file that way anyway. And I personally think Norton is as good as a virus.

What procedure did you use to try to restore your computer to factory settings?

Um, at bOot up, I pressed ?f9? Well honestly, I don't remember, I know it was a. Boot up, and I got to a page that said restore from last known good configuration, but the last known good configuration wasn't before all of this. So the problem persists
Sorry for the typo, I'm on my phone

It's ok. I would suggest backing up your important data to DVDs or an external drive. Then follow these steps:
    1. Restart your computer.
    2. Press F8 every half second as soon as your Alienware logo shows up.
    3. Select Repair (or something to that effect).
    4. This should start the Alienware recovery console.
    5. Recover to the original configuration.

Edit: If you don't get to the black screen giving advanced boot options, restart your computer again and follow steps 1 and 2 until you do.

I don't have any Alienware Logos on the inside. Only on the outside. It's Asus AI series at startup. And it brought me to a black/blue screen that is asking what drive I want to boot from. I'm guessing. Floppy, and a bunch of other random letters. You want a pic?

Sounds like F8 is your boot selection menu. That isn't what you want. You want to press F8 between the Asus message and when Windows starts to load (you only have a very small window to press it).

    "enable boot logging
    Enable low-resolution video
    Last known good configuration
    Directory services restore mode
    Debugging mode
Disable automatic restart on system failure
    Disable driver signature enforcement

    Start windows normally"

Is it directory services restore mode? I don't remember seeing that one last time I was on this screen. And I tried the "repair your computer" bu it didn't work.

I have a feeling based on your Product ID that this method will not work... You will probably need to do a clean install of Windows 7 by obtaining a Windows 7 Disc and a genuine key. There are ways to get your Product Key for your installation from your registry, but we aren't allowed to discuss them in this forum. You can also get the official Windows 7 Ultimate DVD ISO online if you search for it in Google.
