    ICS with a router

I have what I would consider to be a fairly complicated network setup, and I have been scouring the net all day trying to solve several problems.

We have a free wifi hotspot near to my house, and I'm trying to utilize it to save some money on paying for the internet. I have a Windows 7 32 bit machine (host), a Windows vista machine (client), an android device, and a Linksys wireless router.

The free wifi is close enough that the Host machine can connect to the network just fine, the client machine does not have a wireless card, so I used ICS to share the connection to the Linksys router. I disabled DHCP on the router, and now the client machine is connecting just fine. The Android device does not have a powerful enough card to pick up the free WIFI, so I turned WIFI on in the router, and am attempting to connect the device that way.

The android device keeps hanging on "obtaining IP address" and then it just disconnects from the network.

I'm curious if there are any other steps I have to take to share the connection, or is it just not possible to rebroadcast a wireless signal in this way?

Thank you for any help you can provide me.

EDIT: Before I got ICS working, the android device would connect with no issue to the same wireless network.

After I posted this, I got hit with a momentary stroke of genius and fixed my own problem.

I figured that since the DHCP server that ICS sets up wouldn't hand out an IP address to the Android device, I would go in and manually set things up. I assigned it a static IP address within the same subset as the client PC, ran ipconfig/all on the host machine and used the same DNS servers on the Android device. Everything is working flawlessly now.
