According to this product page, you have wireless onboard. (Is this a desktop or laptop?)

All you'll need is a driver for your wireless adapter, which HP should provide for download. As soon as you install it, Windows will take care of the rest and start using the wireless right away. You can then click on the network icon in the notification area and see a list of nearby routers detected by Windows and available to connect to.

    I assume you've got a wireless router?

As you've got a laptop, check at the front of it for a wireless switch, which needs to be in the On position.

Once you've done that your wireless adapter should detect the wireless router, but you'll need to select the network on your desktop in the list of available networks, and then type the password for your router before Windows can hook you up.

You should NOT have to install any drivers. This laptop came with wireless buiilt-in. There is a button near the top-right corner of the laptop that turns wireless on and off. Make sure it is turned ON.

IF your laptop did not come with Wireless builtin, then you would have to use a Wireless USB device and that will come with the drivers needed to install it.

Drivers are needed for built in wifi devices as well, this is my personal experience so this might not be true in all scenarios.

I didn't say drivers were not NEEDED; I said they did not need to be INSTALLED.

This laptop comes with the wireless built-in -- and the drivers are already installed by the OEM. All you have to do to get it to work is push the Wireless button on the laptop.
