problem of 2 NICs on Win Server

I had an issue with my windows server 2008 machine recently. the machine has two NIC (1 onboard and other pci network interface card )

so i notice that whenever i connect the two nic's (local and internet)
my clients or workstations on the local area subnet cannot access data or
even ping command to the server but if i remove the internet NIC they can
access data and information successfully> pls wat is the way out

Hi, hopefully this will help you understand what is happedning.

When I set up my first service running 2008 with two NICS, I had a read of the following. Please note it is quite detailed, but it's a great education resource and should help you get your head around what's happening.

You didn't say if your clients are using DHCP or static addresses, or if both the NICs are configured on the same or different subnets, or of there are any switches or routers in the network, so I'm making a number of assumptions here.
