I've been posting this a lot lately... with the RTM release lots of people must be installing Win 7. :)

This is the process I use and have no problems networking my XP and Win 7 computers at home: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...d-fd3d431f3cd5

The key is in the latter part of the method where you adjust the permissions on the folders to allow "Everyone" access to the files.

    Symantec Endpoint

    Hello,
I have searched for a solution to our particular problem. My problem matched exactly with the original post.

For me I started trying things seemingly completely illogical.

It turned out in my case Symantec Endpoint was causing the problem. I did not have the firewall portion even installed, AND even disabeled every aspect of the Endpoint software, but still was unable to connect to my Win7 shares from WinXP/Vista.

Once I uninstalled Endpoint, my shares instantly started working.

Hope that helps someone out there.

Window 7 can not see XP

    Hi,

I have a different problem. Now My window 7 can not see my window xp but My XP can see one of my window 7 drive. The workgroup name should not be a problem, because it is already the same and works fine until few days ago.

Please inform me if anything I do wrong.

    Jung
