    Yes, you can Google it... but as I mentioned, it reduces the Tx/Rx power state of the networking components as their power/traffic requirements fall off... it's a "carbon emissions" technology...

    If either your adapter or router/AP has it onboard and it's enabled it would be a pretty good reason for what you're posting here about... :)

    How are you telling the accuracy of the wifi signal? Those can fluctuate. Do you have other wireless devices to verify this observation? LIke smart phone or tablet or other PC?

hello, iam using windows 7 professional 32 bit. my laptop is hp elitebook 2560. my laptop is capturing signal, i am able to connect to internet also. But in wifi icon,on wifi bar cross mark is showing up.
The house has 2 laptops connected to a mobile hotspot. Both connect fine to the internet. One is a Lenova (Win7 64bit). When it connects, its wifi shows 2 or 3 bars (for this house, 3 bars is high). The second computer is a Toshiba that I got 2 years ago and it has always shown 5 bars....
