netstat

    netstat


    Good evening you all,

    Can somebody explain to me why netstat -a gives the right output but netstat -b gives me a warning that i need administrators rights ..mine OS is Win7..is it a bug?....

    maybe Microsoft wants you to be an admin to see processes run by other users.

    Iam now admin....but still the message come....for netstat -b..."you dont have blabla

    it's because you need to run the command prompt as administrator. You can do that by right-clicking on "command prompt" in the start menu and go "run as administrator"

    otherwise it is only run as a limited user. That's what UAC is all about.

    Netstat -b lists the executible files that launch comm streams. Maybe one of them is owned by trusted installer and you dont have the rights to run it.

    Hey ken & sup3rsprt...thnks for replying..iam going to sleep now after.. an evening with
    my wife..( she desperate wants to dance with me (Salsa..Zumba...Quickstep and so on)
    I've enjoyed it...I''ll tackle the problem later...when she is out of order...hahahhaa
